Description:

The purpose of NAWMA workshops is to provide a forum to discuss evolving drinking water regulations, technologies, and issues facing Tribal water utilities. These meetings support local Tribal water operators by providing relevant changing information and contact hours needed to maintain drinking water certification as well as allow for networking with regional and local operators. NAWMA sessions occur on a regular basis throughout the year and are coordinated by local RCAC technical assistance providers.

This training event will start with an introduction to the Arizona Operation and Maintenance Template. Building off of our previous day training, participants can begin to build their plans using the Arizona Operation and Maintenance Template. It is not mandatory, but it may be helpful if the participant can bring a laptop to utilize the provided electronic version of the template. The afternoon will follow with Site Sampling Plans and Sample Collection Training. Participants will have hands on sampling opportunities including Bac-T, VOC, free and total chlorine collection, and tips to avoid common errors in sample collection. As time allows, we will discuss a broad overview of the routine “summer” sampling requirements.

These topics will allow tribal operators to maintain compliance with safe drinking water regulations and provide safe water to their communities.
