The Eastern Sierra & Nevada Tribal Operator Certification Workshop training will be held on the following date and time:

This training is being held in Pacific Time.

Description:

These workshops are being offered to the tribal water operators and tribal environmental departments in the Eastern Sierra and Nevada region. The purpose of these workshops is to provide a forum to discuss topics that are used in the day to day running of the drinking water systems and evolving drinking water technologies, regulations, and issues facing tribal water as well as tribal environmental departments.

 

The meetings also support local tribal water operators by providing contact hours needed to maintain drinking water certification and base knowledge to use to study and take the testing to get a water operator license. These meetings allow for networking with local operators and environmental staff.

 

The workshops sessions will be planned for throughout the year and coordinated by local RCAC technical assistance providers. The gathering will be held online and in person.

 

Agenda:

·      Welcome and introduction

·      Summer planning concerns

·      Coliform sampling quiz and discussion

·      The metric system, dosing, and testing

  o Powers of ten and

o Common math errors

·      Construction drawing

o Finding useful data

·      Water system flushing

o Practices, policies, and operations

·      Activity: water flushing plan

·      Future topics discussion and closing questions
