Date & Time:

The Drought Resiliency Symposium training will be held on the following date and time:

October 30 8:30AM-3:30PM

Description:

In September 2021, California Senate Bill 552 was signed by Governor Newsom and enacted into law. SB 552 includes new responsibilities and requirements to help small water suppliers and rural communities reduce the risk of inadequate water supply during a water shortage event.

In this workshop we will share the emerging awareness and understanding of potential water shortage risks, and we will identify new roles, rules, and recommendations to improve drought resilience planning. Related agency stakeholders are invited to attend and discuss regulatory viewpoints.

Participants will learn:

·        New requirements in Drought Resilience and Water Shortage Response

·        Communication and coordination between water suppliers, customers and government agencies

·        Emerging challenges to increased frequency and severity of drought conditions

·        How to measure your groundwater well water level

·        New tools to assess current climate information and water shortage vulnerability

The recommended audience includes operators, managers and elected officials.
