Description:

These workshops are designed to educate wastewater operators and other professionals about the general operation of wastewater lagoons/ponds.  In addition to providing overview and general knowledge, this workshop will help prepare the attendees for sitting for a state wastewater exam.

September 3, 2024, Overview of wastewater lagoon treatment workshop will cover the following topics:

·        Regulations and the need for wastewater treatment

·        The basic wastewater treatment processes, including preliminary/primary treatment 

·        Lagoon components and design

·        Lagoon Operation and Maintenance 

·        Lagoon troubleshooting

September 4, 2024, Understanding lagoon wastewater math. This math section will be interactive with math problems put on the screen for the participants to practice. This workshop will cover the following topics:

·        Introduction to the state’s math conversion sheet concept

·        Typical wastewater math problems encountered for preliminary treatment 

·        Lagoon volume math

·        Lagoon hydraulic and organic loading math

·        Lagoon inches of rise and disinfection math

This training will be hosted online on GoToTraining.
