Description:

The summit brings together water leaders, board members, utility staff, drinking water providers and interested parties from private and public systems to address safe drinking water for now and the future.

 

The Office of Emergency Management shared an overview of their capabilities in assisting the water systems within the county to ameliorate the pressures that accompany emergency response at the community level, items such as emergency water distribution, disaster planning and mitigation, response and recovery, along with health and safety warning distribution.

 

The Office of the State Engineer also shared an overview of the Governor’s water priorities for the 2025 Legislative Session gave a brief walkthrough of the 50-Year Water Action Plan.

 

What comes next?

The convening will approach the subjects of security with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), disaster preparedness with the Office of Emergency Management, and benefits for operators.

 

Our guest speakers are experts on cybersecurity issues, disaster preparedness and employee
benefits. We will also cover information on upcoming training events within the state, present the 57th legislative session Joint House Memorial for Water Operators and more!
