Through guided discussion, case examples, and practical tools, counselors will gain clarity on HUD’s ethical framework and learn how to confidently navigate complex situations without compromising trust, compliance, or client outcomes.

The course also covers the unique responsibilities of working for multiple HUD-approved agencies, including how to manage transparency, time, and data security across different roles. Whether you're new to the field or a seasoned counselor seeking a refresher, this course equips you with the insight and structure to make ethically sound decisions, protect your agency’s reputation, and preserve the integrity of the HUD Housing Counseling Program. ·        Uphold Social Media and Public Conduct Standards

Use social media responsibly, avoiding political endorsements, discriminatory content, and client-related disclosures.

Understand how personal actions—even off-duty—can reflect on HUD and their agency.

·        Identify and Manage Conflicts of Interest

Maintain client trust by avoiding actions that could create real or perceived bias.

·       Commit to Ethical Certification Standards

Recognize the consequences of violating ethical standards, including loss of certification or legal action.

Sign and adhere to a code of conduct that reinforces their role as a public trust professional.
